Speed Racer was very enjoyable. the beginning was kinda off but the movie got better as it kept going. Emile Hirsch played his character perfectly as did Christina Ricci. no one else could have played it well.
A dizzing fast action (sometimes too fast and too dizzy) futuristic race o'rama. It felt like I was watching Roller Derby meets d*** Tracy (you know the not so good one with Maddonna) on a roller coaster. I took two 6 year old (boys) and a 4 year old (girl). The 4 year old was ready to leave after 20 minutes, but the boys were entertained. I will say there was some unecessary language, one finger gesture and some questionable violence.
The actors did a pretty good job. John Goodman was believeable as Pops. Spped, Rex, Spirtle Racer were good and Racer X was very believable.
All in all OK, but wouldn't pay to see it again. Witter
